The cycling route "From Zero to Hero" leads literally from the beach to the highest peak of Biokovo. It is the ultimate cycling experience suitable for the physically fittest riders. So if you are among those who crave for an active holiday, with an emphasis on "active," you will hardly find a better cycling challenge fit for a story to tell. 

Since the climb to the third highest peak in Croatia, Biokovo’s St. Jure, starts literally from the beach in Makarska, all thirty kilometers of this demanding outdoor activity represent a serious ascent. Climbing from 0 to 1762 meters above sea level is not easy, but cycling, at least for serious riders, is not meant to be easy.  

Central Dalmatia offers a whole range of exciting outdoor activities and opportunities for an active holiday, but only one cycling route is "heroic." Additionally, don't forget that after the physically demanding ascent, a technically challenging descent back to the sea follows, making “From Zero to Hero” the main cycling attraction of the destination, and one of the most attractive in Europe. 

Riding from sea level to the top of St. Jure, you will pass through diverse landscapes and climate zones. The route is suitable for riding from early spring to late autumn, but depending on the time of year, don't be surprised if you start the climb to the top of Biokovo in summer conditions at sea level and finish in almost wintery ones at 1762 meters. 

From Zero to Hero passes largely through almost untouched landscapes, so for this challenging cycling trip, you need to be prepared, meaning equipped with enough water and extra clothing if it gets colder at the top of Biokovo. 

Along the way to the top, almost the entire time you are provided with beautiful views of the mountain and the sea, passing through groves and meadows where you can sometimes see wild horses, and the cycling route also passes through the Biokovo Nature Park and by the globally popular attraction Skywalk Biokovo.
